First, a quick 2-week recap:
These last 2 weeks have been a tizzy. The weekend prior to this one we went back home to visit family— our first time being back in 6 months. It was bittersweet because while I absolutely love living in Vancouver: the buzzing city, kid-friendly atmosphere, and serene home we’ve made here right next to the water, I miss Kev’s family. My in-laws are truly the most wonderful people in the world. I grew up with distant parents so when I was brought into Kevin’s family I felt a different kind of love. Being back last weekend reminded me just how much I miss them.
That said, things have not slowed down since we’ve been back. We went right into Autumn’s second birthday, starting off the day with pancakes…
(we did this last year too and we’re going to do this every year moving forward.) We will film her every year enjoying her pancakes and asking her 2 simple questions: “How old are you?” And, “What is your favorite thing right now?” We’ll be able to make a collage on her 18th year and look back on all the years as a treasured memory.
We opened some gifts, and after her nap we went to Science World. Side note: I was *so* careful in washing her hands multiple times while we were there because I know how interactive it is and *germy* but, alas, she was sick the next day and it made it’s way through the house later this week, as it always does. :P

We ended the day with an icecream cake from DQ and had some neighbour friends over to celebrate. It’s been so nice to have slowly found our new groove here in Vancouver. Autumn has made some wonderful friends and I have too. I was seriously missing “mom friends” and feeling quite lonely after months of living here but like any big life change, things take time, and I’m so excited to have made some new friends!
This week is a bit of a hodge podge of fits. Because I missed last week, I’m blanking on the days so sharing the fits based on the events I recall from the busy 2 weeks:
It was a lovely, sunny day in perfect 25C weather for lunch on the patio with a new mom friend. I wore this grey ribbed tank (its super thick, soft fabric makes it perfect for those in between days) and paired it with my favorite ecru barrel jeans ya’ll have seen me wear on repeat over the summer. The black studded belt and strappy sandals were the perfect balance between the white and grey.
I took a poll on my IG feed and said I would “abide by the results of the poll” on which dress to wear to this fancy event I had that evening.
By a landslide, this brown linen beauty from DISSH won. And to be honest, I felt more comfortable in this one so I’m glad it did. :) I paired it with these tonal brown heels from Toteme and my taupe bag everyone mistakes for a mini Kelly (PS. I have a code for this bag!! AMBER15 for 15% off!)
This one might be my favorite from the weeks tbh. I’m wearing a size S in the rugby shirt as it is quite oversized already. And these loafers are going to be such a staple in my wardrobe this upcoming season— I can’t not think of ways to wear them.
I took inspo from Princess Diana in the 90s when she wore a rugby shirt and paired it with loafers. I am never not inspired by her truly timeless style:

It was a warm, sunny Sunday last week when I pulled look to go on a family outing to the nearby sunflower festival. It was so much fun! They put on a great little festival and very kid-friendly:

This is what I wore for Autumn’s birthday to Science World. These jeans are the same as my ecru paired mentioned above. I love them so much I own them in 2 colour-ways, this colour is so soft (softer than the ecru) and I love the wash! This cardigan (code: AMBERS15 for 15% off) is 100% wool and as someone who has a wool sensitivity, I wore a long sleeve shirt underneath and was perfectly comfortable. I like the texture in this cardigan— it adds some dimension to the fit. Finally, I paired it with my comfortable birks.
EXTRAS:
Accessories I’m wearing above: Sunglasses | Earrings & Necklace (code: AMBER15 for 15% off).
Currently watching: The Perfect Couple on Netflix. We started this last night and are two episodes in. I was hesitant to start it because the trailer didn’t look appealing to me but my friend who also loves pysch trillers said it was good so I’m giving it a go. After sharing it on my stories the reviews were entirely mixed: 50/50 split between good vs bad. If you watched it, what were your thoughts?
I have Plantar Fasciitis. It had started in my third trimester without my knowledge and had slowly got to the point where I was unable to walk. I have since been on the mend and have seen both a chiropractor and a physiotherapist. While I have exercises to do, ice rolling, shock wave therapy, and more, I wanted to share these shoes that have helped me tremendously! I wear them most of the time aside from the occasional outfit photo or outing (to which I bring these shoes with me and change into). New Balance runs a half size small so size up .5!
Until next time,
Such cute looks!!
Love the Princess Di reference, it’s so fun to see where people get their inspo from!
