Good morning and Happy Sunday!
This week I’ve been test driving the Volvo XC40 and I have to say friends, it is truly fantastic. When the Volvo team reached out inviting me to their event this upcoming week I let them know their email came at a great time as I was looking for a new car. The car I currently have (Ford Explorer) was great for Alberta roads/ weather. We had so much more space on the roads (& in general) than we do now living in Vancouver. The roads are much tighter, parallel parking is everywhere, and there is a lot more traffic. Plus, gas has quite literally doubled since we moved here so there’s that to consider. I’ve been curious about electric cars for some time (Teslas pretty much own the city here. I would say about half the cars on the road here are Teslas vs. Ford being the main contender in AB.) Since driving the XC40, I’ve felt much more comfortable driving here too! It kind of came as a surprise for me since I’ve experienced nothing but anxiety being behind the wheel since we got here but now I’m realizing it likely had to do with how large my car was on such tight roads. She—the XC40—also carries quite the punch. I don’t have to lay heavy on the pedal to get going like I do in my Explorer and it’s a lot smoother of a drive as well. All in all, I’m very pleased and eager to learn more about Volvo’s latest tech innovations come this Friday at their event.
In other news, this weekend is Canada Day. We are waking up earlier (tomorrow) to head into our local town here for their parade. Each year they put on a festival with lots of things for kids— face painting, live music, food trucks, bouncy houses right next to the splash park, and, of course, the parade. I’m excited to take Autumn; I know how much fun she’s going to have. So, wishing all of my fellow Canadians a happy Canada Day (a day early).
Kev and I had our weekly day date at a wonderful little cafe called LIVIA Forno e Vino. If you’re in Vancouver, I highly recommend checking out this little Italian spot for either brunch, dinner, or an aperitivo (from 3-5pm).
Now onto this week’s What I Wore…
Monday

A casual outing with my little— we hit the local coffee shop (Autumn always enjoys their loafs and I, a cortado) followed by the big playground across the street before heading back home for a nap and lunch. This bodysuit is so flattering, I get questions on it every time I wear it.
Tuesday
Not the greatest shot but it’s all I could get with Autumn nearby. It was on the cooler side at the start of this week so pulled out my favorite cotton pullover and these pants from Zara.
Wednesday
We love an all black outfit for summer, right?
Thursday

I love, love, love this fit! It might’ve been my favorite from the week.
Friday

Saturday

Outfit repeater! I’ve been wearing these shorts nonstop lately.
Extras:
ICYMI: I wear this necklace *almost* every day (as you’ll see from my posts of the week). I cannot recommend Dorsey enough!
Two really, really great posts I read on Substack this week:
For my toddler moms out there— if you were wondering if a water table is worth it, the answer is YES. I ordered this one off of Amazon the other week and Autumn can’t get enough. We also got a pump added as well for continuous water play. This summer has started off great!
Until next time,
—A
