Hi friends, and happy Sunday!
As I relish in the last bits of summer, I’m also preparing (and eagerly awaiting) the shift into fall. I’m fully immersed in organizing my closet this week (new items going up on my Poshmark ‘AmbersOutfits’ soon) and starting to shop for fall wear as the weather starts to cool down this week! I’ve made a wishlist as well as some of my recent purchases [for fall] linked here. I tend to get carried away with fall shopping since dressing for this season in particular has always been my absolute favorite —the dopamine hits just right— I try to stay within the realm of mindful consumption. But more on that next week.
This past week we enjoyed our last few days of sunny, hot weather by being outside as much as possible. We went for numerous bike rides along the water, sunset walks, patio visits, and lounged on our deck whenever we had a moment to relax (aka: when Autumn went down for her nap). Would love to hear how you’re making the best of the last remnants of summer:
PAINTING THE SCENE: The August sun casts a warm golden glow as you step onto the cobblestone patio of a cozy, aperitivo + wine bar, the kind of spot where time seems to slow down. The air is filled with the gentle clinking of glasses and the soft hum of laughter, blending seamlessly with the ambient music playing in the background. A gentle breeze carries the scent of freshly baked bread and citrusy cocktails. This is what you’re wearing: a breezy, classic white button down, roomy denim shorts, your favorite ballet flats you found second-hand, and a basket tote. In your bag you have your essentials + a tide-to-go pen, baby wipes, a spare diaper, a colouring book, and your current read for the moments in between. The world outside fades away, leaving just the two of you, the sun, and the perfect blend of good company + great wine.
MONDAY
Casual and comfy: White silky pants (under $46) + basic tee + minimalist sandals (necklace is from Melanie Auld).
TUESDAY
Simple & easy outfit combo: Shoulder top + denim shorts + minimalist sandals (belt is a nice little detail).
WEDNESDAY
If this outfit looks familiar it’s because it was the collage photo from above ;)
THURSDAY
Another easy look: tank (old, from Zara) + jeans (I sized up one size for a looser fit) + strappy sandals. As a side note, these [prescription] sunglasses from Warby Parker are seriously worth the $$$. I wear them every. single. day. Necklace is linked here.
FRIDAY
For our weekly [Friday] day date I wore this adorable top from Canadian small business, Atelier Tulpe. Paired it with these wide leg jeans (size down 1 size if you want a tighter fit) + Chanel ballet flats linked above. Don’t be fooled, I was boiling in this look but ‘twas worth it.
COMING UP…
This week the weather is starting to cool down— the forecast is showing mostly cloudy and about 5-6 degrees cooler than what we’ve been having the past couple of months, which makes me think summer here is ending and fall season is commencing! This upcoming week I will be making one final post on summer— a full recap and reflection on my favourite looks, failed looks, things I bought that were 100% worth the money and things I bought that I ended up never using. And overall, what I learned along the way. A sartorial retrospective, if you will.
Until next time,
Ok we need more photo collages accompanied by a brief narrative… that was great!
