Happy Saturday! This week’s newsletter (coming to you a day early) is a lengthier issue so you’ll likely need to go to the web version to see everything. I’ve been busy planning for the upcoming fall season, noting trends and making wishlists, putting together our fall travel plans (something really exciting is being planned— get ready for quintessential fall content coming your way at the end of next month!) all the while strategically switching over my social media content to more vlog-style and humorous videos I used to share a year and some time ago. I’m also adding more “juice” to these weekly newsletters. I have felt the simple outfit roundups to be a bit bland if I’m being honest. There is so much more that goes on BTS and I’m excited to open up and share more with you!

But first, a quick outfit round up:

Outfit details from my viral reel this week: Dress is Zara, Sunglasses are Warby Parker.

These pants are *so good*. Be prepared to be seeing me in them all season long! Sweater (code: AMBERS15 for 15% off), shoes, bag is Songmont.

There was a kids festival happening near our house this week— balloon animals, face painting, bunny’s, a concert by a children’s entertainment performer, and more. Autumn has the *best* time! Kev and I said “I guess these are our weekends now, going to kids concerts.” :P He’s right, and I kind of love it! Personalized “Sunday” sweater (code: LFAMBER10 for 10% off), Jeans, Hat (bought in Capri years ago).

A stunning and totally unique dress by Brochu Walker!

Button down top | Jeans (old- Boyish denim) | Sandals | Bag

  • I just ordered these sneakers so I can style similar outfits like this for the upcoming season:

As a side note, I also ordered Autumn these baby sambas so we can semi-match again. I find that there’s a special little joy in matching with my girl— celebrating the bond we share. The way her eyes light up when we’re both wearing the same thing is too precious. I always say, “Mommy’s shoes and Autumn’s shoes— see, we match.” These little moments of connection that turn the ordinary into something magical.

  • A really good show I just started on AppleTV, The Morning Show, with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. They just launched season 4 so I’ve got some catching up to do but it’s brilliant! I didn’t have high expectations tbh so this one took me by surprise.

  • This cream is a must-have! When I tell you it’s the best day cream I’ve ever used; it’s lightweight but still, somehow, rich; not at all greasy feeling. It melts into your skin and leaves the best glow, and just the right amount of SPF. I never thought I’d get excited about a day cream but here we are. If you’re looking for something that delivers without the fuss, this is worth it! Plus, it’s on sale right now for 25% off at Dermstore— the sale ends today! As a side note, (also on sale) I use the Elemis cleansing balm nightly as my double-cleanse routine. So, *so* good and it’s the OG cleansing balm.

  • I read a really good quote this week and am re-sharing it to spark your week:

It’s a good reminder that progress is not always immediate or visible. Emphasizing the importance of patience and persistence. Trust the journey and stay committed, even when things seem stagnant!

Despite seeing pumpkins and halloween decor out in Homesense this week, followed by me sharing a poll on my IG stories about the 2 different types of people: the ones who are excited for fall vs. the ones who are annoyed by the chatter of it in mid-August (BTW, the results of the poll were 30/70! So it’s clear the majority of people don’t want fall chat atm) yet so many stores are already promoting their fall pieces; Starbucks fall menu launches next week, and it looks like I’m in the minority of people who are very excited about the upcoming season and want to talk about it. If you’re not interested, the newsletter will end here for you my friend. PS. This coming week I’ll be sharing another juicy post of my summer style roundup: favorites, fails, and takeaways.

I saw a reel that Jill from The August Diaries had re-posted on her stories of a girl talking about how summer is for the “hot girlies” and fall is for the “fashion girlies.” While it definitely caused some controversy in the comments (not surprised by this) it resonated with me as someone who has always despised dressing for summer. Fall fashion is 100% where it’s at. So let’s get into my foolproof guide:

3 Guidelines I’m Using To Create Coordinated Style This Fall:

  1. I start (as with any outfit, really) with good basics. I.e: A straight leg denim + simple tee tucked in; or, comfortable trousers + an oversized sweater; or, barrel jeans + a fitted tee… you get it. I start with a simple formula and go from there.

  2. Earth tones ♾ + textures: Olive (my all-time favorite colour btw), burgundy, and rust are all colours I plan on incorporating into my wardrobe this season. These are the quintessential colours of fall and pair well with basics/ neutrals. I also love to add more interest through textures like chunky knits, corduroy, or leather. It creates a rich, seasonal look.

  3. Relaxed everything is kind of my vibe year round but as we go into the cooler months the relaxed denim, oversized button ups, slouchy sweaters, boxy blazers, it all looks so effortlessly chic. I like to balance the proportions with something more fitted like wide leg pants + a tucked in, fitted turtleneck, or accentuating the waist with a cinched belt.
