Hello friends and happy Sunday! Another week of outfits in between the chaos of toddlerhood.
What I wore to the beach:
What I wore for a date night:
Side note: these earrings are the epitome of “old money” style:
I’ve been really leaning into statement jewelry lately. And silver at that. After well over a decade of strictly wearing gold jewelry, I’m coming around to silver. Every new jewelry purchase I’ve made in recent months has been silver, like these Bottega Veneta dupe earrings from Amazon (for only $17cad / $13usd!)
It has been said that our tastebuds change every 7 years (or as we age). What you once loved you may dislike in years to come. For instance, I used to love cocktails with vodka (Moscow mules, martinis, etc) but in the past 3-4 years I can’t stand the taste. Same thing happened to me with mushrooms— used to dislike mushrooms on anything; pizza, pasta, steak… but now I enjoy them in my dishes. I think our taste in fashion is similar. While clothing styles might come in and out quite quickly these days, I think evergreen products like our taste in jewelry or how we do our everyday makeup slowly changes after many years. I used to wear highlighter on my cheekbones and now I avoid it because of the creases shown around my eyes. I wore white eyeliner in my high school days, then stopped just out of high school because I read it was “outdated,” but lately I’ve been embracing it again because I find it brightens up my tired eyes. Anyway… I’m rambling again. What I mean to say is, I like silver jewelry atm. :)
What I wore for a weekend family outing:

Although not pictured, I wore this outfit with my new big purchase. I make one “big purchase” about 2x a year and this time I decided to splurge on my very first purchase from The Row. I had been thinking about these sandals for months and could think of at least 15 different ways to style them so I knew it was a good purchase. You’ll see me wearing these beauties all summer long!

A few extras:
Pro tip: bring colouring books with you if you have a toddler! Autumn has been very into colouring as of late. I ordered this one off of Amazon and we’ve taken it everywhere with us. It honestly buys Kev and I an extra 20-30 mins of peace while we enjoy a meal or two outside of the house!
Although I haven’t had the time to read since Autumn, I *very recently* picked up this book from my local book store in an attempt to take 20 minutes out of my day during Autumn’s nap time (or if I wake up early enough in the mornings) to squeeze in a few moments of solitude. So far I am only about 1/4 of the way through and I have cried twice. Although it’s sad, it is a beautiful book helping us see the true importance of life. I like that this book is shorter than most I’ve read in recent years— I find it’s less daunting for me to start given my limited amount of time. Even though it’s so popular right now, I couldn’t pick up a book like A Court of Thorns and Roses. It’s such a lengthy read, and so many series; shorter novels are much more attainable for me atm.
If you’re in need of a self tanner, I recommend this one from Coco & Eve. It’s still not quite summer weather where I live yet so I’ve been relying on this tanner since I’m out of drops. Code: AMBERSCOTT will get you 15% off regular priced items sitewide btw.
Until next time,
—Amber
Lastly, smart idea about an investment piece about every two years. Something I’m thinking about considering myself. 🤔
Tuesdays with Morrie is a beautiful book. I read it in high school & still have the copy. It’s a favorite! If you’re enjoying it now, you’ll enjoy it all the way through. 💗
Also, loving the silver moment! I’m a silver girlie at heart. Love the Dorsey statement earrings — it’s been hard finding “old money” styles that look quality, but you’ve nailed it with these. They’re gorgeous!! 😍😍😍 LOVE ALL your outfits. They’re perfect. 🤩 hehe
